Today, teens and adolescents have more choices than ever in creating a beautiful smile. From traditional braces to “invisible” braces, the number of effective and cosmetically pleasing treatment options is growing all the time.
This is the most common question we hear from our teen patients and the answer depends on a few things:
Whether you require early treatment: Dr. Britton will follow you on a bi-annual or annual basis to assess the growth of your jaw and determine when you are ready to begin active treatment. Some patients benefit from an early intervention.
What needs correction: The length of treatment will depend on your individual diagnosis and treatment plan. More complex cases can take more time to get great results. Indvidual patients also react to treatments differently, so you may take longer than another patient for similar treatment.
Compliance: Properly using and caring for the appliances your orthodontist gives you and following at-home instructions will be a key factor in the length of time it takes to complete your treatment. Better care and cooperation, means faster treatment.
Our practice offers a variety of braces and appliances to meet your individual treatment goals, including:
Clear aligners (Invisalign®)
Clear braces
